Why HxHTracker exists
Loving Hunter x Hunter in the 2020s is a strange experience. It's widely considered one of the greatest manga ever written — and for most of the last decade, "following" it meant refreshing a wiki every few months to check whether the hiatus had ended. This site started as a tool I built for exactly that problem: a single page that answers the three questions every fan actually has — Is it alive? What did I miss? When is the next chapter? — without digging through five different sources.
Everything here is written from the perspective of a reader who has been through the full hiatus cycle: the 2018 stop, the four-year gap, the 2022 return that ended too soon, the 18-month silence after chapter 400, and the current 2026 weekly run. That experience shapes how the guides are written. The catch-up tool exists because coming back after a two-year break and trying to remember which prince was which felt worse than starting a new series. The hiatus chronicle exists because the history of these breaks is genuinely interesting — Togashi's health, the manuscript stockpile reports, the way each return was announced. And the Succession War tracker exists because fourteen princes, each with hidden Nen beasts and kill-or-be-killed rules, turned out to be nearly impossible to follow from memory alone.
A few promises about how this site runs: the trackers are updated the same day new information drops, every page always shows its last-updated date, we link to official reading sources only (Manga Plus and VIZ — both free for new chapters), and we don't host or embed any manga pages. This is an unofficial fan project with no affiliation to Shueisha, VIZ, or Togashi; it exists because the fandom needed a utility, not another news repost mill. One personal note: if you're on the fence about starting this series — don't wait for the anime to return, don't wait for the arc to end. The current weekly run is the best reading window this series has offered in ten years, and the Succession War is building toward something special. Not permanently. Togashi has stockpile past Chapter 421, so the current weekly streak is stable — but Shueisha has said the series won't return to a fixed weekly format year-round. Enjoy it while it lasts; we track every hiatus announcement.
